Professional cleaning and prevention
Dental Hygiene and Prophylaxis (prevention) constitute the branch of dentistry concerned with keeping the patient's mouth clean (using hand instruments and ultrasonic devices) from bacterial plaque and tartar (calcified plaque) for the treatment and prevention of dental and gingival problems such as gingivitis (inflammation of the superficial gum tissues), periodontitis (inflammation of the deep supporting tissues of the teeth), halitosis (bad breath, unpleasant odour and taste), and caries.
Thanks to the use of the Mectron Combi Touch device, it is possible to combine an ultrasonic unit and an air-jet polisher in a single unit, allowing the patient to benefit from comprehensive prophylaxis: supragingival and subgingival tartar removal, stain removal, biofilm removal, and implant cleaning.
